Mexico`s Supreme Court declared the cannabis ban unconstitutional, but as of July 2022, the Mexican Congress continues to fight to pass a full legalization law that would create the legal means of cultivation, sale, and possession for all adults. Proposals to fully legalize recreational marijuana are waiting to be reintroduced in the Mexican Senate. The country`s lawmakers have been under pressure to pass a full legalization law since 2015, when Mexico`s Supreme Court began issuing a series of rulings declaring cannabis prohibition unconstitutional. To all the people who ask where to buy weed, don`t worry, someone will come to you 20 times an hour and try to sell you weed, coke, heroin, etc. in one of the resort areas. Elsewhere, just walk into a bar and if the waiter or bartender looks hip, ask them. It`s the drug find 101. And for all of you who don`t know about weed, medical herb isn`t medicinal, it`s just weed. The same weed in a medical pharmacy is the same weed they sell in a recreational pharmacy. In fact, pharmacies that sell both will have the same weed, just across the store at a different price. As for the sativa vs indica issue, I had indicas that kept me up at night and sativas that knocked me out like a switch. There is literally no difference, depending on the variety. There is no herb sold in pharmacies that is a purebred sativa or indica because they have been crossed for 60 years.
You can buy seeds online, but no pharmacy will jump with this kind of exclusivity. I`ve been growing weed for over 40 years, and the misinformation about it is a bit depressing. No Billy Bob, there`s no medical weed, Delta 8 is, no, the guys selling weed at the resort probably won`t get oil or rubber carts or other fancy legal you get in the US and Canada. They could, but don`t count on it. And it`s going to be ridiculously expensive because you`re an American who has enough money to come on vacation. Do you want the same experience as in the United States or Canada? Then stay home. These are the kind of people who go somewhere abroad and then eat at McDonald`s because the food is “weird.” Yes, I am in favor of legalizing marijuana in Mexico. I`ve lived in Mexico for almost 14 years and I`ve been buying a pot of dirt for almost as long as I think I`m dirty. Please keep me updated on the progress of legalization. Personally, I can`t wait for this to happen and soon.
Consumption in public spaces remains illegal, but a growing movement of consumers smokes weed outdoors, while some establishments have long tolerated the practice. Prominent cabinet members such as Interior Minister Olga Sanchez have openly called for a shift towards legalization and regulation. As a result, it is virtually impossible to access medical cannabis legally. Although there are written regulations allowing the use of imported cannabinoid compounds with low THC content, these certificates are difficult to obtain. At last count, only five pity exemptions had been granted to children with epilepsy for whom all other treatments had failed. According to Doncsecz, the same goes for global destinations. “For international travel, it`s no secret that similar marijuana laws in other countries — for example, the Netherlands — are a great driving force for travelers who want to see a new country and also experience the local culture,” he said. “I have no doubt that Mexico would experience an economic boom if they were fully legalized; In addition, I believe it would also reduce “minor drug offences”, creating a much safer destination. “There are allegations that police can plant additional cannabis on someone who finds it in possession, so that it exceeds the legal limit of five grams.
Anecdotal reports suggest that this is more likely to happen to young people and poor who are seen as more vulnerable, an unfair and unfortunate fact of life in Mexico as in so many countries. If this landslide occurred on the 15th. If approved by Congress in December, it would create the world`s largest legal marijuana market. Not to mention the takeover of the cartels. Medical marijuana was technically legalized in 2017, but nothing has changed yet. Adult cannabis remains illegal. Are you for the legalization of weed or against? We all have the right to have an opinion and I invite you to share it. 🙂 Hello, I am a medical marijuana patient in Florida (USA). My wife and I will be moving to Belize in a few years. I brought mine when I was there last year and the locals only had cannabis to sell. No one knew which strain it was. I could only assume that they had nothing but Sativa (I use Indica in medicine).
I hope that Mexico will be legal and that I will be able to get the varieties I use. Do you think Mexican pharmacies will have basic information and terpine profiles once they legalize the sale? Thank you, Jim But the failure of lawmakers to officially legalize means cannabis users still face persecution and the possibility of police blackmail in some places if found in possession. Interesting information. Thank you very much. I live in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada, where we have been secretly developing, crossing and selling large buds for over 50 years. Until 3 years ago, it was illegal, but for decades the police turned a blind eye to those who grew moderate amounts (of excellent quality, I might add) for personal use. By the way, statistics show a huge decrease in alcohol-related crime since legalization. Near the U.S. border, tourism has skyrocketed, although it has always been a strong industry in British Columbia, a beautiful part of the world.
As already mentioned, it has been legal in Canada for 3 years – even the smallest cities have 2or3 shops, a beautiful industry has been created. The jar sells for about US$75 per ounce; Biker gangs were at least twice as expensive before legalization and they were known to add herbicides etc. during the growing season. Now they focus on selling coca, methamphetamine, opioids, etc. to their losing customers. Well, if U.S. federal politicians can turn their heads properly and devote time and energy to useful things instead of spending all their time and energy trying to stay elected, well. You know what I mean. Mexican home cultivation is fine. It`s actually pretty good.
Many people prefer it to the American breeder, American breeders make it much too strong. If you can grow 6 plants at home, who will take care of the rest? Who handles all government licenses and regulations? That`s enough for a family. As far as cartels are concerned, I`m not sure that selling Mexican pot in the U.S. is a very good deal. I don`t think it will affect their business at all. As an American expat, when I`m in Texas, I never see a Mexican pot for sale. No one wants it. They want this super strong Californian medical pot. Overall, legalizing people to grow their own food is a very good, low-impact plan.
I agree that young people don`t need to use it, but as it stands, I`m sure anyone can get it if they want to. And really, when I walk down the street here, I rarely feel it. I think the key to reducing weed use by young people is to make it look like it`s a recreational drug of choice for older people. Which it is, and it`s absolutely not cool for a young person to smoke it. Or anything else. Good article. I`ll keep an eye on updates. One thing I hope for from legalization is potency labeling as you see on Colorado products. In addition, I hope that with the wider market, they can afford research and development to achieve greater consistency and predictability for edibles. Hello. Drive to Playa in a few weeks.
Was this done legally and is there a storefront or do I have to ask for something 🙄😬😂? How could we get it if and when it is done legally? So marijuana is not legal yet, but it is almost legal. Anyway, have you ever wondered how easy it is to pick grass or edibles around Playa? People in Philadelphia are now openly promoting weed, even though it`s only decriminalized here. And in New Jersey, which has been legalized but recreational sales have yet to begin, people are openly selling street weed at flea markets where cops know and ignore it. And there are people like N.J. Weedman who openly sell weed in front of Trenton City Hall as a semi-political act. N.J. Weedman is known here – he`s all over the newspapers, etc. Anyway, I was wondering if you had a similar situation in Mexico where people sell openly and the police ignore it? Will Mexico legalize weed before the end of 2022? Technically, medical marijuana is legal and adult or recreational use is not.
But it`s a bit more complicated than that. Mexico legalized medical cannabis in June 2017 with a measure that only allowed the use of imported cannabis derivatives with low THC content. There has been a lot of legal back-and-forth, but the country looks set to finally deliver on the promise of medical legalization with a more modern approach in 2021. It`s February 21st and there is still NO Mexican legalization. Perhaps they are waiting to pass the laws on 20.04.2022. I have 20 seeds that I received in the mail, and on March 21, law or no law, will start growing. Like many Mexican marijuana laws, regulations, production and sale will be arbitrary.
