The application process for a student internship begins in September, with shortlisted individuals participating in an interview with one of the partners. Your performance will be assessed during the programme and subject to availability, you may be given a new challenge to work with Kennedys as a trainee lawyer until you qualify as a licensed lawyer in Thailand.

We offer training to accompany you throughout your apprenticeship contract. You will have the opportunity to participate in internal and external seminars and access a variety of online and technical learning skills through our learning management system. At the end of the two-year paralegal training, trainees who wish to continue their studies have the opportunity to participate in the level 7 legal training. This takes four years and involves obtaining a degree (Hons) in legal practice and leads to the qualification of barrister six years after leaving school. The program is free and open to all students and graduates who have a legal or non-legal background and do not require legal experience. The program lasts about six hours and can be completed at your own pace from any location. At the end, you will receive a certificate that you can refer to on your CV. Applications for our 2024 apprenticeship contracts will be possible from May 2022. In order to attract the best talent from diverse backgrounds, we know the importance of providing school leavers with a pathway to legal education. Our program is free and open to all students and graduates with legal or non-legal background and no legal experience is required. Because the program is virtual, the work experience can be completed at your own pace from any location. Our two-year training contract allows you to develop relevant experience and skills that will propel you into your career as a lawyer. During your apprenticeship contract, you will complete four six-month internships in different teams in our key areas of insurance and reinsurance, liability and trading. We are proud to have won the Best Apprenticeship Diploma Award at the UK School Leaver Awards 2019 and the Best Employer in Law Award at the UK School Leaver Awards 2018 and 2017.

Once you`re done, you`ll receive a certificate that you can reference on your resume. Our two-year internship takes place in our Edinburgh office and handles both insurance and liability cases. During your training, you will be assigned a supervisor who will conduct quarterly performance reviews with you to discuss progress and development and ensure that you are working towards Level 2 Professional Training (PEAT 2). More information on the results of PEAT 2 is available here. Before starting your articling period, you must have completed an undergraduate degree in law and a diploma in legal practice. Kennedys funds your course fees for the Diploma in Legal Practice and provides a maintenance grant during the study period. We offer training contracts in the following offices: Our student internship program runs annually from June to July. To apply for a student internship program, you must be a 3rd year student at a law school in Thailand at the time of the program and be willing to learn and work in Kennedy`s core business areas such as insurance, reinsurance, medical malpractice, arbitration, litigation, business, and commerce. We are pleased to announce that our virtual internship program has reached 10,000 registrations in just over a year. The virtual articling program began in August last year and was designed to ensure that the largest possible pool of aspiring lawyers can get a taste of legal life.

Our two-year training as a paralegal allows students to receive a Level 4 Graduate Certificate in Legal Services. This corresponds to the first year of a Bachelor of Laws. Paralegal education provides an introduction to the fundamentals of legal practice and offers a combination of learning and working in one of our legal teams to gain the knowledge and skills needed to work as a process assistant at Kennedys. The articling and articling period includes civil and commercial litigation, providing legal advice to clients around the world, and assisting the firm`s lawyers in court hearings, mediation, and arbitration. Kennedys offers legal apprenticeships for young people who are leaving school and have graduated from high school or equivalent and want to start an exciting career and earn money while learning. We believe that our apprentices are a very important part of our talent pool here at Kennedys.
